Left Turns Made Safer For Pedestrians

In 2018, over half of all pedestrian-involved crashes occurred at intersections, mostly caused by left turns, which resulted in more than 6,700 severely injured pedestrians and more than 1,500 pedestrian fatalities for that year. However, a new study by the IIHS reveals that bollards and rubber curbs help prevent drivers from diagonally cutting across intersections can make it safer for pedestrians to travel.
